Dr Rodney Beckwith – CMRI Central Coast Ambassador

Dr Rodney Beckwith is a general practitioner from the NSW Central Coast. He has over 12 years of experience in General Practice and holds the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Rod successfully applied to receive Federal Government funding to establish the Reliance GP Super Clinic at West Gosford, where he is currently the Director.

The Reliance GP Super Clinic commenced operations on 22 July, 2013 after several years of planning and construction. The Reliance GP Super Clinic is very successful in providing essential after hours support and many other services to the Central Coast community.

In 2012 Dr Beckwith created the concept of Doctus, which is now operating as Australia’s first online prescription service. The aim was to develop a system of computer assisted diagnosis whereby patients can have an efficient online system of dealing with simple diagnostic problems.

In conjunction with his daughter, Sarah, the concept has gradually been brought to reality. Doctus have chosen to commence the development of the concept by offering an online prescription service for simple conditions.

Dr Beckwith is a family man who enjoys competitive and recreational cycling. More recently Dr Beckwith has commenced fundraising for the Children’s Medical Research Institute and is now the CMRI Central Coast ambassador. He is embarking in the CMRI Great Cycle Challenge with his Reliance Health Team this October which is motivated by his experience of hundreds of patients with cancer and his personal contact with the Institute.
