Port Hacking Committee

Established 1965

The Port Hacking Committee started in 1965 when a group of friends in the Sutherland Shire decided they would like to support Children's Medical Research Institute.

The committee hold a number of fundraising events throughout the year, changing the events each year, ranging from a Big Band Day to a Chinese banquet to celebrate the Beijing Olympics, which starred two previous Olympians.

Two events which are already in the calendar of many locals, is the popular Charity Golf Day and Mother’s Day Dinner. These are hosted by the committee and supported by local businesses and residents.

“A memorable moment was when one of our committee members, Angela Williamson spoke at our luncheon. She touched everyone’s heart, telling us she joined CMRI as the way she could say thank you to doctors, nurses etc. who were involved in working with her very sick youngest son from his birth. Today he is a delightful young man.”
