Finding cures for children's genetic diseases

Canberra Committee Reception at the French Embassy

The Canberra committee of CMRI organised a reception at the residence of the embassy of France on with the ambassador’s wife, Madame Agnes Espagne-Romatet, as hostess. The event helped to raise awareness for Children's Medical Research Institute and also allowed attendees to ask questions of CMRI's Director, Professor Roger Reddel.

Professor Reddel was able to explain about telomeres and the causes of aging, which are unaffected by the anti-aging elixirs sold by the cosmetic industry, as well as the role of telomeres in cancer.
