From the first CMRI Barristers Cocktail Evening to a Women of the Future event and even a tour by an international VIP – it has been a busy few weeks of educational opportunities.

Maurice Byers Chambers hosted the cocktail evening where the keynote speech was given by CMRI Cell Signalling Unit Head and Co-Director of ACRF ProCan Phil Robinson. What made the evening particularly special was that Phil’s brother Mark is a barrister at Maurice Byers and his father John was also there to hear about his incredible work.

CMRI Head of Strategic Partnerships Virginia Judge was recently asked to speak at a Crown Group event, Women of the Future. She joined Bank of China Special Counsel Julie Ellis in discussing the challenges women face in business.

“There were a lot of young women there and I told them we have lots of great women working in medical science and many are holding senior positions. They shouldn’t be afraid of making little mistakes along the way, follow your ideas and don’t give up.’’

Another recent educational opportunity arose when the Republic of Indonesia’s Consul General Yayan Ganda Hayat Mulyana visited CMRI for a tour with his wife Irene Irjayanti Mulyana. The visit provided an opportunity to explain the importance of the work done at CMRI.
