Jeans for Genes Denim Dinner

Saturday 22 June 2019, The Star, Event Centre

Join us for the 2019 Denim Dinner, the annual gala dinner supporting the iconic Australian charity campaign for Children’s Medical Research Institute!

The Denim Dinner raises funds to beat children's genetic diseases. This event is an opportunity to meet the scientists who deliver the magic, the people that bring research to life, as well as meet some of the special families who are directly benefiting from the work you have supported.

Your evening will include a superb three-course dining experience, with an excellent array of entertainment. Hosted by the ABC’s James Valentine, you will experience the Wonder of Science with Australia’s leading magician, The "Wizard of Oz", Adam Mada and the enormously talented Logie-Award winning actor and musician, Joel Jackson.

The families behind research

Last year we put the focus directly on the reason we do research – to help children who live with genetic disease every day.

Jessica Gowans, mother to Henry and Rosalie, shared her story from the heart about raising two children with a rare condition. She talked about her fears that one day both children could have heart and nerve damage, or that they could go blind, but she was forever grateful for people who supported research.

"I truly believe that research is the only reason we still have Linke with us today." - Linke's mother, Rene

Linke was told she wouldn’t live to see her second birthday. Medical research was the difference between life and death.

Thanks to the support of our partners, the Denim Dinner is helping Children’s Medical Research Institute improve the future of children and their families everywhere. We’re proud to call them our partners and are inspired by their generosity.
