Volunteers and CMRI

Volunteers from Abbotsleigh helping prepare DNA gels in the Cell Transformation lab

Volunteers have been helping the Children’s Medical Research Institute since its inception in 1958.  Volunteers who donate their time, energy and skills allow our scientists to maximise their research efforts.

Volunteers are needed to help with numerous essential tasks including general administration support, making coffee and tea and various tasks during special events – particularly on and around Jeans for Genes Day.

Before you apply to become a volunteer, please download the Volunteer Guidelines to read about the rights and responsibilities of volunteers and of the CMRI.

If you are interested in applying online or you would like to download our volunteer application form to apply by phone or fax, please click here.

For more information about volunteering with the Children’s Medical Research Institute and/or for Jeans for Genes call our toll free number 1800 GENIES or 1800 436 437.
