Science Teachers' Forums

The Children’s Medical Research Institute’s bi-annual Science Teachers Forum is for science teachers and educators.  The Science Teachers Forum provides up-to-date information on genetics and biotechnology using exciting, real-life examples from our research.

The program is designed to meet facets of the NSW HSC Biology and Senior Science syllabi and sections of Stage 4 & 5 Science, including genes and DNA, transgenics, gene therapy and genetic disease.

The day is balanced between lectures delivered by expert science communicators and world leading researchers, and hands-on laboratory work.  Laboratory practicals provide an excellent opportunity to experience biotechnology in action and also offer some ideas that can be taken back to the classroom.

Comprehensive lecture notes and other excellent education resources are provided, along with fully catered morning and afternoon tea and lunch.  A nominal fee is charged to cover costs.

For more information, please contact the Science Communications Unit on our toll free number 1800 GENIES or 1800 436 437, or email info@cmri.org.au
