Children’s Medical Research Institute conducts fundamental genetic research to understand the genes important for health and development, and the underlying causes of disease.
We study the genes and molecules that make our bodies’ cells grow and develop from the moment of conception onwards, and the genes that maintain the healthy function of our bodies.

It is through understanding the most basic inner workings of our cells that we aim to find the insight needed to advance the prevention and treatment of many diseases that rob children of the healthy life that should be their birthright.
Diseases that also affect adults, such as cancer, epilepsy, and glaucoma, have similar basic origins. In this way, the knowledge that arises from our research will have enormous implications for everyone.
The broad spread of expertise within the Institute and our state-of-the-art facilities provide a fertile ground for discovery.
Children’s Medical Research Institute is part of a global network of scientists with the same vision. Through international partnerships and the sharing of knowledge we can achieve our goal of a healthier future for all children.
