Children's Medical Research Institute Redevelopment Campaign

a mother holding a newborn baby and toddler daughter looking onWe are very proud of the improvements that have been made in child health, but too many children still face major health problems, and there is a tremendous amount of work that must be done.

Our vision at Children’s Medical Research Institute (CMRI) is to find the answers to the problem of childhood illness.

Childhood illness is a serious problem and it’s why we need a four-fold expansion in research personnel over the next 10 years. With more scientists contributing their skills to our research endeavors we can better and faster reach our goal of a healthy future for all children.

Whilst our current laboratories are of an international standard, we have reached full capacity. We need to expand our current facilities at our current Westmead site.

The new facility will be built over five stages to ensure research can continue with minimal disruption. The staged construction process will also allow enhanced recruitment and research activities with the completion of each stage, so we don’t have to wait 10 years to expand our efforts.

Our $100 million vision will assist our scientists to extend their research capability so they can discover answers, and ultimately create solutions.

This world-class facility will ensure research leaders remain in Australia and contribute to Australia’s research reputation internationally. Most importantly, the increased capacity will assist our scientists to achieve our research goals sooner and give our children the best possible start to life.

CMRI is working with State and Federal Governments and existing supporters to secure funding for this project. However, this is a major undertaking we cannot achieve without your support.
