The Children’s Medical Research Institute (CMRI) is a dedicated team of people working toward a common goal – the improved health of our children. We have over 100 research scientists, who are supported by committed teams in laboratory operations, supporter services, community relations and fundraising.
CMRI has its own Board of Management and is a registered charity in each State and Territory of Australia.
CMRI has departmental status within the Sydney Medical School at the University of Sydney and we provide outstanding training for Honours, Masters, and PhD students. Students from many other universities, including Macquarie University, the University of Western Sydney, Wollongong University and universities overseas have undertaken training and gained various awards and degrees under the guidance of CMRI researchers.
Because CMRI is an independent research organisation, our scientists have the intellectual freedom to follow truly intriguing and ground-breaking science.

CMRI has a remarkable array of talented people - mostly young, and all energetic - from around the globe. It's an exciting place to work.
