Does CMRI offer genetic testing for individuals?

The Children's Medical Research Institute (CMRI) conducts fundamental research into the basic causes of disease. We do not conduct genetic testing for individuals.
Your health care provider has the best information for you regarding DNA testing. You may also consider speaking with a genetic counsellor about a specific genetic condition and DNA testing. There is a list of genetic counsellors by State on the website of the Centre for Genetics Education.
In Australia we are fortunate to have a good health care system and an excellent standard of medical research. Of course the best thing of all is to be able to prevent disease. Our philosophy is that prevention is only possible through research into the basic causes of disease. CMRI scientists are at the forefront of basic research in four areas: embryonic development and birth defects, cancer, nerve cell signaling, and gene therapy.
You can support our research into the fundamental causes of disease by making a donation.
